25 years building software.
Still learning every day.
When your head is full of ideas for changing the world, what do you do? I created a software development company.
“I never thought I would work in software—or with computers,” I admit. “I'm passionate about quality, excellence and helping people. I discovered that software development is a great means to that end.”
My business degree in hotel administration first filled my head with visions of “Hundley Resorts”—modeled after fine dining establishments and luxury hotels with white-glove service. Through a series of life events, I found that my penchant for perfectionism and eye for detail made me an excellent software developer.
With a rare combination of both technical and people skills, I understand clients' objectives, solve problems and lead talented teams of developers. The name Elegant Software Solutions sprang from my idea of exceeding clients' expectations through clean, elegant code.
Everything we do is meant to make our clients more profitable—whether that's increasing revenue, decreasing costs or both. ESS is built on my belief that quality and excellence exist only to the degree to which a software solution positively affects both the people and profits of the companies it serves.
My 19-year partnership with MDSi—helping grow them from $20M to $300M—proves what I value most: long-term relationships, not quick wins.
My desire to change the world begins with my own employees. Through ESS, I've created the Elegant University™ and Elegant Apps™ programs to foster young careers and advance the skills of software developers—limited only by the height of their aspirations. The result is a team of loyal, educated developers who safeguard their craft, incubate new ideas and deliver cutting-edge software solutions with white-glove customer service.
What I Do Now
I'm obsessed with AI. I've shipped over 3 million lines of production code using AI-assisted workflows. I build RAG pipelines, MCP integrations, and agent architectures that actually work.
At ESS, we focus on AI enablement, data management, and systems integration for enterprise clients. 100% US-based team in Atlanta. If you're looking for help with AI systems or technical leadership, check out my services.
Off the Clock
I live in Alpharetta with my wife, our daughter, and four dogs. Yes, four. It's chaos and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'll be honest—I work a lot. Six days a week, often 18-hour days. When you love what you do, it doesn't feel like work. Now that we've invented AI, the only things standing between us and ultimate productivity are time and money. That makes it hard to stop. I can't tell you how many times I've looked up and it's 6 AM—and I have to be up at 6:30. It's addicting. I have to force myself to stop.
But when I'm not building software, you'll find me hanging out with my wife, daughter, and our pack of dogs. Every chance we get, we're at Walt Disney World or boarding a cruise ship. Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line are our favorites—there's something about being on the water with family that recharges everything.
Looking Forward
I wouldn't want to be alive any other time. This is it. What AI is enabling us to build is absolutely incredible, and we're just getting started.
Within the next decade, everything changes. Not incrementally—fundamentally. The jobs my daughter will apply for don't exist yet. Veterinarian on a spacecraft. Robotics coordinator on Mars. These aren't science fiction anymore—they're the job postings of the 2030s.
I believe in what Elon Musk is building toward: a multi-planetary species, robots handling the work humans never wanted to do, and the freedom to pursue what actually matters. I'd follow his lead. Will there be challenges? Absolutely. People worry about AI taking jobs—but jobs have always evolved, and humans have always adapted.
Here's what I know: humanity is inventing a new form of intelligence. If we're smart enough to create it, we're smart enough to do it right. We'll weather this storm the same way we've weathered every other one—together.
I'm not naive about the risks. But I'm profoundly optimistic about where we're headed. This site is my space to share those thoughts, document what I'm learning, and connect with others who are just as curious about where all this is going.
